Are there dance skill requirements at auditions?
• The first day of auditions consists of across the floor combinations. At this time we will be looking at split leaps (Grande Jetes), leaps in second, switch leaps, pirouettes (double pirouette minimum), pique turns, kicks (Grande Battements), and axle turns. • Hip Hop, Pom and Jazz combinations will be taught also. • The biggest requirement is POTENTIAL and willingness to learn and improve. That will be evaluated as well. Improvement each day of auditions will be noted. What are Judges Evaluating? (In no particular order) • Showmanship/Expression • Confidence • Dance Technique • Personal Appearance/Fitness • Positive Attitude/Personality • Energy/Dynamics when dancing • Ability to dance various styles (hip hop, jazz and pom) • Communication Skills/Well-spoken Do I have to make up my own routine?
