Yes. Even the leading laboratories have different reputations. The GIA and AGS are generally considered the most conservative graders, while EGL is a bit more generous. That’s why you will pay a bit more for a diamond with a GIA or AGS certificate than for a diamond with an EGL certificate and the same characteristics.
