Are there different types of streetcars?
DC will operate modern streetcars; there are also vintage and heritage vehicles. These are either older vehicles which have been refurbished and put into service or newly built vehicles which have been designed to look like the older vehicles. The vintage/heritage vehicles have modern A/C systems and are much higher quality than some residents may remember. DDOT is currently reviewing the feasibility of operating heritage streetcars.
