are there fake vintage – 1950s to 1960s watches out there?

I’ve seen and once owned a fake Rolex. It was a piece of crap. But I am looking at mid 1950’s watches for something nice that was made near my birthyear of 1956. It got me to thinking that some of these vintage watches look awfully perfect to me making me wonder if they could be fakes. Or are most of the fakes done for 1970’s and newer? I know there are a lot of Rolex fakes. How about Jaeger or Longines or many of the other top ten brand watches. Is there not enough profit potential to make fake vintage watches?
