Are there many NGOs and private sector involvement in HIV/AIDS prevention and control?
There are a multitude of NGOs dealing with HIV & AIDS, but with a smaller population, there is less of a crush of organizations than you may find in Nairobi for example. Namibia Business Coalition on Aids (NABCOA) is the recognized (in both the MTP3 and NSF) lead organization for coordinating the private sector response and is working with other stakeholders such as the unions, employers, civil society and government for greater cohesion. One of the difficulties Namibia has is that it is, perhaps unfairly, classified by the World Bank as an Upper-Middle Income Country.
