Are there more differences within American political parties than there are between them?
There are similarities and there are differences. When looking to actual governing, not rhetoric, both parties have shown they both believe in bigger government, and more government programs. The differences seem to be more gov’t programs for what, and how much bigger each party wants gov’t to be. Both approve of running up the national debt. Dems want to do it by expanding gov’t even faster than the GOP, but also raise taxes. GOP wants to do it slower, and cut taxes.
