Are there staff members who live in the residence halls?
Yes … each floor has a Resident Assistant who lives on the floor with the residents. In addition, each hall/complex has a full-time professional Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) or Graduate Residence Director (GRD) assigned to work with students and staff in their respective buildings. RLC’s are full-time professional staff members with master’s degrees in higher education or related fields who live in the residence halls. RLCs and GRDs serve on the department’s 24-hour emergency services team. Within their assigned residence hall, they supervise student life and oversee the Resident Assistant and service desk staffs. They manage major departmental projects, including parental outreach, faculty and staff outreach, staff selection and training, publications, programming and staff recognition.
