Are three-year-old already capable of drawing?
At the age of three, most kids are able to draw basic shapes and figures. They can draw basic shapes like circles, triangles, and squares and they might also be capable of drawing large and small shapes. At three, you can expect the child to learn how to observe people and how they write and draw. That’s why it’s common for parents to see their kids mimic their drawings and writings, though the kid’s rendition might look like an assembly of straight, curved, and jagged lines.
Three year olds drawing stick figures? You can expect them to partially draw a stick figure, given that they can draw a head, and a line. Some kids might be able to add in extra details like smaller lines to denote the hands and feet, or dots to indicate the eyes and ears.
As the child grows, his/her motor skills also increase but that is with continuous practice. That is why even kindergartens have art classes that teach kids the basics. If the child is homeschooled, there are art activities for them at It’s Ingenious that will hone their motor skills and creativity.
