Are tougher hate crime bills what we really need now?

No, we do not need tougher hate crime laws at all. they should’ve be non existent to begin with. I agree that these laws protect certain races/sexualities more than others, and that they completely segregate our country. Caucasians are no longer the majority, yet they are being singled out as so, and their punishments against “minorities” are much more harsh than they would be if it were the “minority” had committed the crime. The “world owes me” mentality has leaked into our justice system, and that leak needs to be stopped. I am Spanish, Portuguese, German and Bohemian, and look Hispanic, Mexican, or even Puerto Rican . . . How would my attackers be charged? It’s a double standard that definitely needs to be readdressed.
