(Back to Top Questions) 15.1.7 Parental Leave PTAA members with one year or more of service shall be granted six (6) weeks of paid parental leave at the birth of a child or the placement of an adopted child under the age of twelve (12) years. PTAA members should provide at least one months notice prior to the start of the leave, whenever possible. When additional time is needed beyond the six weeks because of medical reasons, that time may be charged to sick leave with proper medical documentation. 15.1.10 Family Leave (Leave Without Pay) - (a) Upon written application, a staff member may be granted a leave without pay normally not to exceed six (6) months for reasons of personal illness, disability or other purpose deemed proper and approved by the President or his/her designee.
