Are vitamins and suppliments ok past their sell by date?

Yes, they don’t go bad on the expiration date like dairy products would or anything. The expiration date is basically the last date they can guarantee potency until… after that, they should still be safe to use, but the potency starts reducing at that point. I’ve even used a Vitamin C that was like 2-3 years past the expiration… it was safe to use, but I know now that it didn’t really help much. Generally, I would stick with the recommendation on the bottle, even if it’s expired. If it’s way past the expiration, it’s better to buy a new bottle than to guess how much lower potency it would be at. That being said, I would advise against taking any liquids after the expiration or softgels too far after the expiration. Certain liquids can get rancid when they are exposed to Oxygen and the gelatin around softgels cans degrade over time, which can expose the oils inside to Oxygen (again, that can make them go rancid). Good luck and I hope I helped!
