Are war casualty figures for Afghanistan separate and not included in war casualty figures for Iraq?
Afghanistan and Iraq are separate operations and therefor the casualty numbers are separate. The operation in Afghanistan is known as Operation Enduring Freedom. The operation in Iraq is known as Operation Iraqi Freedom. The following link is to the most current casualty report released by the Pentagon. Edit: These missions are of different natures and the fact of them being two different countries has nothing to do with the mission designations. Soldiers who are stationed in Djibouti and the Philippines are also considered to be part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
