A number of current applications authenticate to Novell eDirectory and will continue to do so after the completion of this project. The plan is for the migration project to establish the AD infrastructure but not to risk destabilising existing applications by leaving those alone that are currently dependent on eDirectory. (One change at a time!) After completion of the migration project a separate project(s) is planned to move all authentication to be via AD only. This will eventually allow the removal of eDirectory completely.
