Are xenon 8000k iceberg blue headlights illegal?

They are not “technically” illegal but they are blinding to other motorists if you aren’t using proper projector headlight assemblies (which many people do not). So the simple act of having HIDs could get you in trouble if a cop wanted to hassle you about it. Temperature/color-wise the more blue/purple you get the more likely you’ll be stopped. You can maybe get by on 8ks but don’t try anything higher. I saw some guy driving around with 30ks (Ultraviolet) – the first cop who sees you will probably stop you. The higher temp you go the dimmer they are anyway – the brightest HIDs are like 4300k and they’re pretty much white with no blue. 6000k are blue-white and are a bit dimmer.
