Are you generally pleased with Tony Blairs performance as PM over the last ten years?

Generally, yes. Under Blair’s ‘New Labour’ the UK has prospered. This is mainly because Blair chose to move the far left tendencies of the Labour Party to the centre and even a bit to the right. So much so, that Privatisation, something that Thatcher started continued at a strong pace under Blair’s leadership. The economy of the UK has done well, though how much of that is due to Gordon Brown and his policies is much debated. Currently, the UK enjoys one of the world’s strongest economies and strongest currencies (almost $2 to the £1!!!). But good comes with bad. Council tax has risen by 60% in the last 10 years under Blair, the NHS is under a privatisation threat and is under funded and the UK is embroiled in not one but 2 global conflicts in which there is no easy way out. Blair’s involvement in Iraq has cost him and Labour dearly and I think that the Conservative Party under David Cameron has an excellent chance of gaining the PM and government in the next General Election.
