At this time, limited funds are available for the purchase of additional resources. However, a number of the databases provide additional free access to PDAs specific software. For example, Victorian public sector clinicians can now access mobileMICROMEDEX FREE with the Clinicians Health Channel’s Healthcare Series subscription. Clinicians may download it at home, or at work. Follow the directions by clicking on the mobileMICROMEDEX icon on the Main Search Page of the Micromedex interface. Instructions are outlined. You can download 5 databases: Drug information, Alternative medicine information, Acute care information, Toxicology information, and a Drug Interaction Tool for up to 32 medications at once providing detailed interaction warnings covering severity, documentation, onset, adverse effect, clinical management, and probable mechanism.
