As a leader in the South East, why is it that the people hardly speak with one voice?
Yes, the eastern part of Nigeria has been a shaping ground for political support. The North and the Yoruba’s wanted a divided east and they were succeeding with it all the way. In fact, two weeks ago, I was in a meeting where the eyes of the easterners opened to what their problems have been. For example, look at the issue of the abandoned property. The fact is that federal government created the abandoned property and not the non-Igbos. David Mark, the present Senate President is part of the architects of abandoned property as at that time, though it was not his decision. He was implementing orders from above to create something that could divide this country.
