A small amount of gasoline dripping out the bottom of updraft carburetors is normal when the motor has just been shut off. It’s from gasoline vapor condensing on and “wetting” the vertical surfaces of the throttle bore and intake system while the motor was running. But, more than about a half a tea spoon of gasoline dripping out is not normal. That’s a leaking float needle and the good news is………… it means that the carb is not getting so hot it is boiling off the gasoline in the fuel bowl.
