Yes. I spent a month there and they do. It’s definitely more for tourists, but locals that work all day looking for opels, etc. wear them to keep cool. From what I’ve seen, I think someone buys one and they stay in the family forever.

we don’t wear the giant ones, we wear the ones called “texanos” and are exactly like the ones worn in texas. They’re mostly worn by old people not necesarly by the working class but they’re widely worn by farmers.
