Yes and No. If we’re talking about pistol ammo, it is not legal to own and shoot both on the federal level and in NY.

I heard from a guy at the gunshow /gunstore /somewhere that it is illegal to own more than (insert quantity limit here) rounds of ammunition at one time. Is this true?
