At what temperatures, does calcium carbonate decompose?
The reason for the different temperatures that people are providing is because there is an “onset” temperature where it will just start to decompose, and there is a “practical” temperature where the process becomes fast enough that it is actually useful for making lime. The “onset” is theoretically derived and is not a very useful piece of information (requires one atm of pressure of CO2, for example).
