Organizations and foundations exist that loan or donate computers. For the most part, these donations/loans are to non-profit organizations rather than to individuals. The National Cristina Foundation donates used computers and computer components to non-profit organizations that work with individuals with disabilities. The organization must fill out an application to be accepted. Upon acceptance, the organization receives a quarterly list of computer components that have been donated. The organization can request components but must pay shipping and handling.
