Being with Minus the Bear, how is that collaboration on the road?
Russell Pollard: I think it’s been good. We’re playing great shows to great crowds and they’re bringing out a lot of people. It’s a lot of younger fans, too, which is great for us. When we’ve done touring in the past with Wilco and My Morning Jacket and Neil Young, those were great tours as well, but this is a great tour for us to grab onto some new fans — fans that can grow up with us. Minus the Bear are all super-nice guys, so it’s a really fun tour. SSv: What are you taking away from touring with a band like Minus the Bear after being with such seasoned vets? Russell: Well, they also have their act together. They’re really pro. There’s really no difference I see in the shows they put on as far as their abilities and the other bands. There’s a difference in age a bit, but every tour you go on that’s of any length will give you bits and pieces of information from the people you play with.
