Question: I am going to marry my Thai fiancee. I am an American citizen. My family would like me to get her a K1 Visa, not a K3 marriage visa. In this point in time I want to get the K1. visa. (Maybe I have the different visas confused however I need to know what happens if I get married in Thailand). I think i need a lawyer in Thailand who will do the legwork for me and to assist my wife in Thailand. What lawyer should I use that speaks Thai and English that could help me and my Thai fiancee with the paperwork? Answer: The K1 Visa is your US Fiancee Visa. The K3 is the US Marriage Visa. As for attorneys find an attorney in Thailand that not only speak English and Thai but will also assist your Thai fiancee with the paperwork and the interview. Above all find one who is registered.
