This is a very important question for many brides-to-be, for a couple of reasons. First, they want the two rings they are going to wear for the rest of their lives to look attractive as a set. Second, they want to know that, should they choose, they can wear one ring without the other. To ensure that the wedding band is flush with the engagement ring, the head of the engagement ring (pronged piece where the diamond sits) should be set at the right height. You may see other styles of “nesting” engagement ring/wedding band sets. One of the more popular is where the wedding band is curved slightly to accommodate the diamond in the engagement ring. While this can be an attractive option, it does not allow you to wear one ring without the other. Buying a wedding band can be a complicated process, especially when you are buying two rings months, if not years, apart. But it doesn’t have to be.
