If your plans are to enter a four-year school, the answer is a resounding YES. To enter any of the Washington Public Universities, a minimum of two years of a study in a single world language are required. As admission to colleges and universities becomes more and more selective, however, some schools are requiring two years but suggesting three or more. The University of Washington definitely looks for 3 years of world language study from its applicants.
