calibre too small for anything other than roe deer and foxes?
Deer stalking GEORGE WALLACE When deer stalking – I prefer larger calibres than .243 for all-round deer management but lots of people do use a .243 so it can t be all that bad. In the right hands a .243 cartridge is a fine round but the high velocity can damage a lot of meat and it doesn t have a lot of spare knock down power in the event of a less than perfect shot placement. On the plus side though, its low recoil makes it easier to shoot accurately.
