Depending on the nature of the divorce, you might need to go to confession before recieving the Eucharist. The Church views a divorced individual as still married before God to their spouse. The divorce is only understood in terms of the civil seperation of property. Thus any activity on the individual where they act outside of the bounds of their marriage (dating etc.) places the person in sin and they need to go to confession before recieving the Eucharist. A divorced individual who remarries without an annulment cannot be absolved of their sin until they leave the person that they are with. Thus likewise an individual who persists in a dating relationship while still married, cannot make a good confession and thus cannot go to the Eucharist until they attempt to live as Christ wants them to live.
