Can a classified employee be exempt from being bumped or unassigned?
It is possible. Exemptions may be requested by the principal or supervisor for a classified employee who has unique skills that are absolutely necessary for that program to continue and that are not obtainable or trainable among any senior employees who are currently unassigned. The principal or supervisor must request the exemption by completing the exemption request form and submitting it to human resources. Exemptions will be approved or not approved when necessary due to bumping.
