Hydrocodone is a pure opiate while suboxone is a semisynthetic opioid analgesic. It is not a pure opiate, which makes it not quite as strong. Bupremorphine docks with your opiate receptors as opposed to bouncing in and out like pure opiates do, which is why bupremorphine does not make you “high.
