A young child cannot sleep because of their fear of dying? I think not, a child has no perception of death or of dying until they are much older, and unless they have actually seen someone fall asleep and then die, (which they havent), then they would have no idea that people could even die that way. There are hundreds of reasons why a child cannot sleep, just the same as an adult sometimes. They may be thinking about something, or the conditions may not be right for them to fall asleep, and they arent at an age where they can neccessarily express whats wrong to their parents clearly. Being toilet trained is another worry for yougn children who tend to wet the bed, as they are scared of sleeping sometimes incase they have an accident and are told off by their parents for it the next day.
