Can a fellow/post-doc take a full 52 weeks maternity leave, leaving a project in abeyance and still return to her positions either under current or post-April legislation?

A lady can take maternity leave but the project cannot be put in abeyance as the lady is still being paid. On her return we can extend the project for the time on maternity leave plus any accrued annual leave during the maternity leave period or you can hire a replacement in her absence.
