Can a guy paint his room maroon and gold?

I think it would look alright. I would go for 3 maroon walls with gold trim and 1 gold feature wall,so the room isnt too dark with all the maroon.  more

If it's your room and you have permission (if you don't own the house/condo) you may paint your room any color(s) you like.... You might want to consider the size of the room however. Maroon will make the room seem smaller because it's a dark color..... Light gold walls with maroon pillows and area rug might be a good alternative..... Or...off white walls with one light gold or maroon wall.... lts of possibilities.  more
