Depends on your phone carrier, and if they allow it. I used to use my Verizon phone to do just that. Verizon provided a USB cable, and the drivers my computer needed to recognize the phone as a modem. Some carriers are moving away from doing this though, as they realized they could make more money off people by selling them a dedicated PC card for internet access. Contact your phone carrier, and ask them what options they provide The speeds I got through my USB cell connection were faster than dial-up, but don’t expect to get DSL or cable speeds for at least a few years.
