A director is an employee of the company. The company can pay for whatever it likes. But unless it is an allowable expense for the employee the benefit will be taxable. For an employee's expenses to be deductable they have to be "wholly, exclusively and necessarily" incurred for business purposes. 95% is not wholly and exclusively so the expense will not be deductable. I suspect that HMRC would not believe you and would not allow the cost to be deductable even if you claimed the passport was 100% for business travel.
