Can a representative government defraud its constituency?
A representative government should be made up of people from all walks of life–a representative sample of the American public. That was the intention when our government was created. If the modern day politicians were like us, the stuff that is going on would stop in a hurry. Just compare the polls with the policy. Wealthy people have a big advantage in running for elected office. The phrase is: “they bought the office”. Most of the folks in office don’t need the job. Therefore, they take a very shallow look at issues from a perspective that is so far from the average American’s view, it is a joke. How many people in Congress do you think have gone to the gas pump and filled up the tank–maybe a dozen in the last year–they have people to do that. Same with food and other daily expenses–our government by the rich has become our Achilles heal.
