Our servo motors MTR-AC are rated for ambient temperatures up to 40° C, meaning that the power output specifications in the catalogue are achieved up to that point. At higher ambient temperatures less heat can be dissipated. To prevent the motors from overheating at this point, the motors can only be operated at a reduced power output (derating). Derating curves for the motors are available for ambient temperatures of up to 100° C, enabling you to check whether a particular application is still feasible. When geared motors are used, the thermal stress on the gear unit must also be checked.  more
