Yes they can chew through duct tape. Put a sheet of stainless steel in place of the plastic divider and or maybe stretch a section of chicken wire over the back edge of the AC to prevent him from tearing it up. You may consider opening the unit up to make sure it has not hidden nut inside of it also.

get a cat.i think it probebly could if it wanted to bad enough chew through duct tape.but you need to get rid of the darn thing leave some poison on your window sill if thats the only way to get rid of it.soon it will be in your bedroom.
