Can a virus infect the Akamai network and my contents once they are stored there?

No, because the Akamai network uses Intel architecture with an operating system based on Linux, which is not as vulnerable as Windows based systems. The Akamai servers don’t process or execute any content from its clients in the edge servers. Thus, the possibility of infection from infected contents from the clients doesn’t exist. Further more, the communication between Akamai servers happens with authentication processes, and one server that is compromised will not compromise the others.
