If ADHD causes your anxiety, then possibly. Or if you have both anxiety and ADHD. However, I have both ADHD and Anxiety and Adderall made me panic for 4 days straight! Even at a lower dose, I was more anxious. So as most of them are stimulants, they are likely to make your anxiety worse, just as caffeine does. But it’s hard to tell unless you try them. Recently, I switched to the non-stimulant Strattera, and that helped both my inattention and my anxiety. I would discuss this with your psychiatrist (or get one). Make sure they know the extent of your anxiety and if you think it’s a result of the ADHD symptoms or not. (it’s also possible for anxiety to cause ADHD-like symptoms). A sort of good test, is if caffeine makes you more anxious or helps your ADHD. Of course every situation is different, but in general, I would recommend someone with anxiety to start off on a low dose of the stimulant med to see how it effects them or try non-stimulant approaches first.
