There is no short answer to you question. (I love long answers). Bearded dragons are very loving and handle very easy and they only get 18 to 24 inches long. I have added some information to get you started. The requirements of an adult bearded dragon are as follows: One 40 Gallon terrarium or larger w/ lid (aquariums can be used as well) One log to climb on One water dish One food dish A substrate of your choosing (sand, carpet, newspaper, etc.) A heat lamp A UVA/UVB lamp A calcium supplement WITH D3 (2:0, not 2:1) Plenty of vegetables (squash, greenbeans, lettuce, cabbage etc.) Plenty of Crickets At least one book on bearded dragons for quick reference And…. A qualified vet (before an emergency), Having a vet will be the second best thing you can do for your beardie, The first is the UVB/UVB lamp. This is a basic set up. The total cost (excluding the beardie) will run you around $100-$200. More elaborate setups will get more expensive. The beardie itself should cost between $50-$15

The best forums are beardeddragon.org, kingsnake.com, and reptile rooms. The best care sheets I’ve found are http://www.calicodragons.com/caresheet.h… http://www.kakadudragons.com/caresheet/c… I like http://beardeddragoncaresheet.weebly.com… too, for obvious reasons 😉 There are also superb caresheets at these breeder’s websites: Sundial Reptiles, BeardieDragon, CaliDragon, Dragonz Whispers, and AlphaDragonz. The best health related site by far is anapsid.org A good general site is http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.co… especially notable for its nutrition information section. The best site when trying to find out who is a good person/company to buy a Beardie from
