“Stranger in Paradise” is a popular song from the 1953 musical Kismet and is credited to Robert Wright and George Forrest. Like all the music in that show, the melody was in fact based on music composed by Alexander Borodin, in this case, the opening theme of the Polovetsian Dances. The most popular version was sung by Tony Bennett, but other versions by The Four Aces and Tony Martin also received popular favor in 1954. Ray Conniff recorded a version of the song. Curtis Counce in his album “You Get More Bounce With Curtis Counce!” too recorded the song. In 2003, Sarah Brightman also did a cover version of this song and it was featured on her album Harem.
