Can anybody tango?
Yes, anybody can try. But one thing about Argentine tango that sometimes doesn’t cross cultures is that the dancers have to be very close together. In Latin countries, we are used to that. Why do you think “Forever Tango” is so popular? It’s about the feeling people get when they see it. It opens people’s emotions. What’s the difference between performing and teaching tango? In performing, you are 100 percent in a different dimension — you are you and a character, projecting energy. In teaching, you can talk to and touch people, and you connect with the quality of the energy of the person you’re with. How do you like San Francisco? In 1995, I was here with “Forever Tango” for a year. My wife and I love it now. We got married at City Hall in San Francisco in 2006.
