Can anyone explain how to render shadows only and with an alpha channel?
This is nicely implemented in AM200. (Thanks, guys!) Create a plane under your objects, and mark it as “Receive Shadows/Shadows Only” in the properties panel in the chor. When you render, this plane will not be visible in the RGB channel, and the only portion of it that’ll be visible in the Alpha channel will be whatever falls under a shadow cast by another object.
