Can anyone get a novated lease?
Technically, any employee can enter into a novated lease arrangement, however it also requires your employer to enter into the agreement, so in practice, not everyone can get a novated lease. Generally, novated leases are arranged on behalf of employers by fleet management companies such as SMB Fleet Management, LeasePlan or Custom Fleet. Unfortunately, novated leasing companies tend to aim for larger corporates, due to the per employer costs of setting up a novated leasing program. This situation should improve as competition in the novated leasing space matures, and competition among providers becomes more fierce.
