Can anyone open a bank account in Malta or does one have to have PR status?
Kindly note that any foreigner can open a bank account in Malta even though they might not be residents here. This therefore means that if the clients open their bank account before they become Permanent Residents, they would have a non-resident account with a foreign residential address. They they can then change the same to a resident account with a Maltese residential address after their PR is approved and they have obtained a Maltese identity card.
