I have a Sunbeam Healthy Food Drier that I’ve had for about 10 years. I’m very happy with it, though as this review says it can be a PITA not having an automatic timer, because many things take 8-12 hours to dry and that can mean either late starts or early wake-up calls to turn it off. I made dried apple rings for my babies, they were a huge hit! More recently I’ve been experimenting with various fruit roll-ups. I’ve tried drying tomatoes from my enormous cherry tomato glut, but they’re not as good as the sun-dried ones from the deli. One suggestion I have is to delve in a few of the boxes and look at what advice and recipes you get in the instruction booklet. Some are very vague on details and that can lead to a lot of trial and error. Emphasis on the error! more
