I would suggest staying local, there's a restaurant in downtown A2 called Logan that's exquisite. It has great service, an interesting menu, and you can get a table in the window for some great people watching. It's across from Grizzly Peak. The website is: http://www.logan-restaurant.com/ As for Detroit, your best bet of a good view would be Coach Insignia at the top of the Renaissance Center. The website is: http://www.mattprenticerg.com/urc/coach.asp Keep in mind, both of these restaurants are considered fine dining experiences, and you'll be paying much more than if you were going to your neighborhood Applebee's. Good luck, and I hope your girlfriend has a good birthday!
