Unfortunately there is no way to prevent migraines but you can try to manage them. I agree with a lot of the other answers- drinking plenty of water is always good. The main thing to remember is that everybody is different. What works for one person may not work for the next person. So it’s important for you to keep a migraine diary or journal so you can write down everything that happened before your migraine- including what you ate, your stress levels, the weather, etc., as all these can be migraine triggers. Once you figure out what your triggers are, you may be able to stay away from those things and lessen the frequency. There are daily medications you can take like Topomax- but they don’t prevent migraines, they just help to lessen the frequency and in some cases the intensity. Also there are a number of products specifically for migraine pain. I’ve tried all of them but the one that works best for me is the Imitrex 100mg tablets.
