Can anyone tell me about the Ancient Greek influence of architecture on western civilization toady?
The ancient Greeks understood architecture as Sculpture, and their building show it. Read up about the Parthenon in Athens. Post and lintel construction, columns, and a pediment upholding the roof are all Greek features. Many of our national buildings in Washington are in the Neo-Classical style, which is based on Greek and Roman influences. Anything with arches or domes is Roman though, so don’t FOCUS on those (for this project) check this out http://www.greatbuildings.
